Will Bankruptcy Hurt Job Hunt
by: Steve Cassidy

Thank you for asking your question Will bankruptcy hurt job hunt and future opportunities.

The simple answer is yes, no and maybe. I'll explain.

If you're applying for a financial position, looking for a job that requires compartmentalized security clearances or running for congress, probably not.

The last few years has been incredibly tough and I think most people realize that.

The most important thing you can do is to completely disclose the fact that you have filed bankruptcy.

It's not easy to admit that but your potential employer will find out anyway.

Your best bet is to come straight to the point. They'll admire your honesty which is more important than a temporary bump in the road.

Disclosure is your best route.

Donald Trump has declared bankruptcy how many times? Stop adding the stress to your life, confront the fact and let big boy rules apply.

Your station in life is temporary. That's hope for the poor and a warning to the rich.

Get in the job pool, disclose it as a matter of fact (which your potential employer will view as it's in the past) and get to work.

It's not where you start. It's where you finish.
