Can family come with you on a UXO job?

I have a wife and 2 toddlers. I really wouldn't want to leave them for 3 months for work.

If they can come with how does that work?

Can Family Go on UXO Jobs
by: Steve Cassidy

Yes! Families can go with you on your UXO job!

Many spouses travel with their better side to the jobs. Many traveling in 5th wheel campers.

I've seen kids, dogs, wives and/or girlfriends back at the hotel.

If you have the ability to bring your family on a job without causing drama to the rest of the team, then do that. It's great to come home to family.

Personally, if I travel somewhere cool, my wife will come out for a long weekend. She's been to Seattle, Charleston and Puerto Rico at the El Conquistador resort.

If there are amenities that your family will enjoy, pack their bags and get on the road.

Take family on UXO jobs
by: Toni

I travel with my husband and we have been to CA and UT so far since he got out of the military (EOD)and started working as a UXO tech II. Everyone is really nice and it feels like extended family. I use my time while my husband is at work wisely. I take classes from Northwestern State University for a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration all online. I also plan trips or go on ones other techs have planned as a group. It's a great way to stay connected to your family and also include them in your extended UXO family. I highly recommend it!

Spouses on the job
by: Rob S.

I am like most, my spouse comes with me to every job. I don't see how guys can make it "on the road" with out there spouse.

My spouse takes care of the laundry, shopping, finances, etc. so that all I have to do it get up, go to work and come home. All else is taken care of and honestly I can't see doing it any other way.

I have a diesel truck and a camper that comes with me to every job. If the company provides Per Diem, we will stay in the camper (you save a ton of money this way!). If not, they will provide either Apartments or Hotel accommodations.

Either way it gets us out of the camper for X number of days. Hope this helps.
