TWIC Government clearance
by: Steve Cassidy

The TWIC process requires a background check.

A US Federal Secret Clearance requires a background investigation. Way different.

The background check is the same one that is done that an employer would do before hiring you. I recommend getting your own background check so that you know before beginning the TWIC background process. Click Here!

With the TWIC, they just expand the check in a more broad approach.

With a Secret clearance, I've had Secret, Top Secret, CNWDI (Critical Nuclear Weapons Design Information), NATO Secret, NATO Top Secret..., there's an investigation that starts with a background check and moves to interviews of most everyone you know.

Get your TWIC card. You'll be glad you did.

Clearance
by: Anonymous

What clearence level is the twic card? Is it confidential?

Answer: It's not a security clearance. It's an ID that has a background check.

Everyone that joins the military gets a military ID. Not everyone in the military gets a security clearance.

Hope this helps.

Interim Clearance and TWIC Background Checks
by: Anonymous

Both TWIC and DoD Secret Interim clearances entail background checks only (level II). OPM investigations to support the final adjudicated secret clearance approval by DoD CAF entail background investigations, which commence AFTER the interim clearance is granted for secret clearances.
