UXO Pre-Training

by Steve
(Scottsdale, AZ)

Hello, I've recently reconnected with an old USAF buddy that crosstrained into EOD and is now an instructor. I recently lost my job and he suggested the UXO field. I am planning on attending in January or February 2012 and would like to know if there is anything that I can begin looking at now to better prepare me for the actual course?

UXO pre training
by: Steve Cassidy

Congratulations on your decision to go to UXO school. I've seen that certification make significant changes in people's lives.

For pre-training, what I do, is if you're going to UXO school and take the 40 Hour HAZWOPER with Training Center Pros. It's been discounted and I'll send you a DVD of the UXO student guide so you can get familiar with what you'll be studying.

It's about 900 pages of information. It's best start early.

Also, you may want to pick up Explosives & Blasting 2nd Edition. It's a great book to have throughout your career.

Of course, for every dollar spent with us, you'll receive an entry for our give aways which includes a seat to the UXO School at TEEX.

You actually received a bunch for having your question published.
